Monday Motivator for Your Job Search – Choose to Be an Optimist

positive thinking job search

I believe that we need to think positively in every situation. There is no other alternative. Negative thinking only hurts us and makes us miserable. I am a big fan of Martin Seeligman’s book Learned Optimism: How to Change Your Mind and Your Life and recommend that everyone read it no matter where you land on the negative/positive thinking spectrum.

Positive thinking especially matters in a job search where you need the confidence to weather rejections and sell yourself for the job. You have to get up everyday and know that job is coming; you just have to keep going until you find it.

To help you, I recommend that you check out my blog series How to Stop Negative Thinking and Stay Positive in Your Job Search. I based it off of Mark Tyrrell’s fantastic post on How to Stop Negative Thinking in 7 Simple Steps  and adapted it for job searching. It is filled with practical tips to think positively every day.

Best of luck!
