Start Your New Year Right
We all know the famous quote, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing but expecting a different result.” Another way to say that is that if you want something different, you have to do something different.
If you want something different in your career, you have to do something different to get it.
January is a fresh start. Take advantage of it. Hiring is happening now.
Whatever happened last year, it’s time to put it down. It’s not good for you or productive to keep beating yourself up. Did you fail in some way? Did you lose your job? Or, have you been out of work for months? Did you bomb an important interview? In the end, none of these things matter now, because you can’t go back and change any of them.
What you CAN do is learn from those situations. Think about those events or problems and see what you learned from it that makes you stronger, wiser, or better than you were before. Then, take action on those things and do better.
Do Different
The question to ask yourself now is this: What are you going to do that’s different?
Remember – you’ve got to do something different to get different results.
Along with taking stock of what you learned, take action.
