Monday Motivator for Your Job Search – Just Do It

FlowerNothing will ever be attempted
if all possible objections
must first be overcome.

Samuel Johnson

Job searching can be a scary, uncertain time.  That’s why it’s all too easy to come up with all kinds of reasons you shouldn’t do something:

“I can’t apply for that job because I don’t have the number of years of experience they’re asking for.”

“I can’t apply because I don’t know that software as well as I should.”

“I can’t contact the hiring manager because the listing says, ‘Do not call.'”

“I can’t email John Smith from my old job because I haven’t spoken to him in 5 years.”

If you’re a job seeker, chances are that you can probably come up with objections all day long.

The truth is that:

Lots of people have gotten hired even though they don’t have the number of years of experience the company asked for, because that’s their ideal–not their dealbreaker.

Lots of people have gotten hired even though they may be a little weak in a certain area–you may be especially strong in another, or it may be that you can learn what you need to know quickly.

No one has ever not gotten hired because they contacted the hiring manager before they applied online.

You can ease into a conversation with John Smith from your old job, and he’ll probably be happy to hear from you.  And you can learn how to keep up with all your contacts more regularly.

If you take the risk, you may succeed–if you don’t, you never will.

If you need a motivational boost this week, attend one of my Free Training Webinars.  I’ll sharpen your skills, give you great tips, and even give you extra gifts to help with your job search.

I wish you the best of luck this week!
