Thanks for this info! At the end of my interview today, I flipped through my portfolio to explain my color coding, then handed it over. Each one of them flipped through it, and it felt really good to see them looking at my degree, awards, etc.
I used to find it very difficult to talk about myself and my accomplishments. So, when I came across this podcast, I couldn’t resist it because I wanted to learn how to create a “Brag Book”. Needless to say, I finished my brag book about a week ago and it turned out great. The podcast gave me helpful ideas from start to finish.
This is so great! I made my brag book and I am ready for my interviews. I never thought to use this. I am confident. Thanks.
I had a profile which included my resume and evaluations from previous employers, but after listening to Peggy's podcast I realized how much I was missing out on by not promoting myself. This is a great way to let employers know how well you work and exactly what you can do for their company. Everyone wants a leg up on the competition and this is exactly what this did for me.
I'm pleased to let you know that I have today started a new job after having had Total Access to your expert advice. I was offered a job within 79 days and I'm sure that the reason the offer arrived so quickly was because I followed your advice.
I would like to pass on my thanks for your career confidential material.
This morning I received a job offer (subject to checks) and this as down to my interview prep and follow up. I have been out of work for 27 months.
The last two interviews I have attended both got feedback about my preparation, I did not do a 30/60/90 day plan but adapted the idea and presented a project gantt chart showing my integration in 1 week and kicking off on the project in the second week. Both were for 1 year fixed term contracts so a 30 month plan would have been a little long.
I did not get an offer on the first occasion because he could offer to someone cheaper who he could 'keep and eye on' and I might have been a little forceful on trying to close the deal on the day......
The offer I got today was at the top of their pay range and flexibility to work form home at times.
A great result.
In addition, I started the Hidden Jobs Finder process in September and have been working with a start up company since November FOC. Yesterday they sent me a share offer letter and once we hear about funding it is likely that they will offer me an operations managers role.
So, the process does work in the UK. Thanks again.
