Resume objective statements are valuable–IF they’re done right.  A badly written objective statement is a waste of space and worthy of the scorn that’s been heaped on it by some.  A well-written objective statement is going to grab the attention of hiring managers.  It might even stand in for your cover letter. (Busy hiring managers might not read it.)
