How Do You Choose a New Career?

Brian Tracy said,

“Your greatest asset is your earning ability; your greatest resource is your time.”

Brian’s words are important for you to remember when you decide on a new career–whether you’re changing careers or your a new graduate.

I did an interview with Laurence Shatkin (author of Your Guide to High-Paying Careers, available on Amazon) where he talks about what Brian Tracy’s quote means for you as you choose a new career–as well as what other factors should be part of your decision, besides your future salary.

ShatkinBookLaurence’s extensive research has given him some amazing insights on everything you should consider when you choose a new career–not just earnings but growth, job openings, skill levels, education levels, what a typical day is like, and more.

In this interview, I’ve asked Laurence about his book and who it’s best for, and picked his brain about how to step back a bit and consider your future career.

He had some fascinating things to say about using your asset (yourself, your skills, and your time) as a resource in your career path so that at the end of the day, you can be fulfilled–not just paid.
