How to Find Hidden Jobs like Andy did! (in 6 weeks!)

HiredThis is a great testimony for my Hidden Jobs Finder. (More than 70% of all available jobs at any given time aren't advertised. The Hidden Jobs Finder finds them for you and puts you directly in front of the hiring manager / employer / decision maker for them.) Congratulations, Andy!

Hi Peggy,

Andy Walters here and I just wanted to thank you for helping me get a new job!

You might remember we had a conference call maybe a month ago during which you gave me some awesome advice for handling questions about termination. I have been following that advice ever since and it puts the interviewer on my side most every time.

There was another gentleman on the call with us and we convinced him to no longer throw his resumes into the "black hole" of the job aggregating sites.

You could not have been more right.

I used the Hidden Job Finder modules and followed your instructions to the letter. Less than six weeks after starting the program, I received a firm offer today with a great company and a salary almost 12% more than I was making before! I start a week from Monday.

I would never have found this company were it not for the HJF process. They even told me they usually don't advertise and that I was one of only a small few that contacted them directly. They liked that I showed that kind of ambition and "outside the box" thinking.

So again thank you for your great programs, your perfect advice, and feel free to use any of this email or previous emails in your promotional materials. I am also quite happy to add my name to the list of satisfied customers.

You're the best.

Take care

aw

‘My New Job Did Not Exist When I Contacted the Hiring Manager’

canstockphoto17287705When you start contacting hiring managers, you never know what treasure of a job you'll find.  This job seeker got the job as the only candidate when she contacted the hiring manager at the company.  She went from beginning a job search to filling out hiring paperwork in 2 months.

Hi Peggy,

I want to thank you very much for your amazing products, especially the Hidden Jobs Finder!

I was first a bit skeptical about it, but I can say now, that as long as one follows your advice, one is guaranteed to get a job.

I started to look for a new job at the beginning of May and was filling out the hiring paperwork on the 1st of July.

This was all thanks to the Hidden Jobs Finder.

I found a job that paid almost as much as I wanted with great benefits [and an] amazing boss, in the perfect location...I can tell for sure, that without Hidden Jobs Finder I would have [had] no chance at finding the job, simply because the position did not even exist when I contacted the Hiring Manager!

My current boss just felt overwhelmed and was thinking that he needed some help, but didn't have time to even start working on getting help. He was really happy when I contacted him and offered help through LinkedIn.

[Your] 30/60/90 day plan also rocked. I gave it to my future boss at that time and it served as a guide on what I was going to do.

So as you may have guessed, I was the ONLY candidate for the position. I had [the] perfect resume (based on your [Extreme Makeover] resume kit), perfect experience, I showed that I can create the position and help - so I was hired!...I really, really advise anyone who is looking for [a] job to listen to your webinars and get your products!

...THANK YOU again for being there and [for your] passion for helping others in their job search.

Good luck,

L. C.

Monday Motivator for Your Job Search–Make Opportunities for Yourself

Opportunity does not knock, it presents itself when you beat down the door.
- Kyle Chandler

Often, we need an opportunity NOW--not sometime in the fuzzy future. So I want to encourage you not to wait for opportunity to knock, but go beat down that door and find the one you need.

If you are in a job search, the opportunity you need is finding the job that will be a good fit, and getting the interview for it.

Waiting for that opportunity to knock is waiting for the job listing to appear, so you can apply for it. Making that opportunity present itself by beating down the door is contacting hiring managers directly. Don't wait for the job to show up. Go find it. It's there. Over 70% of all jobs are unadvertised or unlisted at any given time. I encourage you to go beat down those doors to find them. Contact hiring managers (this would be your boss, or your boss's boss) and say, "Here I am, here's what I can do, can you use someone like me?"

If this feels difficult to do, get my Hidden Jobs Finder and use it. It will beat down those doors for you and find the opportunities you want and deserve.

‘I Got The Interview Because I Contacted the Hiring Manager’

business peopleEd applied TWICE for the same position and didn't get any response--then he contacted the hiring manager directly, and got the interview!

...I have an interview on Tuesday that I'm hoping leads to an offer! I used Peggy's system to contact the VP of Technology Delivery in the company who did not know about the 2 previous times I've applied to this company for the same position.  But this time, it worked! She forwarded my resume to the Training Manager who referred my info to the HR Manager who called last Friday.

After that conversation, she told me that she was going to have the Training Manager contact me--she called yesterday...my [face-to-face] interview is with the TM first, followed by the VP I originally sent my resume to, then someone in the Services department and finally the HR Manager! So I'm thinking, why would they have me meet with the VP and this other person unless maybe I was their choice and then HR at the end for the offer?  Sounds good and interesting and so I have Peggy to thank if this works out...

Ed

Congratulations, Ed!  Your story demonstrates the power of going around HR and contacting the hiring manager (or higher) directly.

What Job Search Advice Should You Ignore?

Not all job search tips are good advice

Do you know how to find a job and get an interview? If you follow some very common job search advice, you might not.

Watch the video to see what job search tip you should ignore and why

Even very well-meaning people can give you misguided 'help' that will keep you in the job search for months longer than you need to be. (Here's another one: using Pinterest for your job search. Not good advice. Loads of fun, but not the most effective thing you could be doing.)

Finding Hidden Jobs Is Now 3 Times Faster and Easier

I am thrilled to announce that Career Confidential has just finished a massive upgrade and improvement of our already amazingly successful Hidden Jobs Finder—and to celebrate, we’re offering it at a discounted price for ONLY the next few days!

And we’re offering special bonuses for the first 25 and first 100 customers:  Free personal reviews of your resume and LinkedIn profiles!

Find out all the details here:   New and Improved Hidden Jobs Finder

If you’re in the job search, you can’t afford not to get it.  It could easily help you get 10-15 interviews so that you can be shaking hands with your new boss in a couple of weeks.

For the last 3 years, it’s been getting job seekers in all industries MULTIPLE job offers by showing them how to find the names and contact information of hiring managers through LinkedIn.

But we started thinking…why stop with LinkedIn?  Not everyone has a LinkedIn profile.

If you could expand your search to find hiring managers through Facebook and Google, too, wouldn’t that give you 3 times the results?  You’d get more managers, faster results, and better jobs.

The upgrades are completely fantastic.

  • It teaches a system you can use in any format to find the names and contact information of specific hiring managers in your industry.
  • It includes step-by-step guides to finding hiring managers (and hidden jobs) through 3 major sources:  LinkedIn, Facebook, and Google.
  • It even has a 32-page Appendix with sample messages for what to say when you contact your hiring managers.  These messages are guaranteed to be ‘selling’ messages that get the attention of those managers for you.

Go get it (along with your discounted price and special bonuses) right now.

How to Find Hidden Jobs and Get Interviews

There are two facts about the job search you might not realize:

1. Around 70%-80% of all jobs are never advertised, never posted on online job boards.

2. Only a tiny number of online applications (maybe 5 out of 1000) ever get to the person who can make the decision to hire you.

I don't know about you, but if I were in the job search, I would not like those odds.

The only way to beat those odds and find the job you want is to go around that broken system. Go straight to the hiring manager.

I've been teaching job seekers how to find and contact hiring managers for years, and they can't believe how fast they find great jobs.

I wanted more people to have the same success my candidates have had, so I created a tool called the Hidden Jobs Finder.  It consistently helps job seekers find unadvertised jobs and get interviews.

Most people who use it get multiple offers.

What does it teach?

  • how to get the names and emails of hiring managers in your field
  • what to say to those hiring managers to get them to talk to you (written and verbal scripts)
  • how to build rapport and get an interview

It's a very easy, step-by-step system, and it WORKS.  In just a few hours, I can teach you how to find all the unadvertised jobs you want.  You could be choosing between multiple job offers within a few weeks.

Do You Need a Job Search Engine to Find a Job Now?

You don't need an engine...you just need the right tools.

Job Search Tools

Job search engines like Monster, Indeed, and CareerBuilder are great for basic jobs research,  but they're not the path to actual employment.  They have too few jobs and too many people applying for them.  (The majority of jobs are never listed on online job boards anyway.)

The best way to find a job is to get the tools you actually need to develop a targeted job search.

So...what's not working for you?

  • If you get the interview, are you getting the offer?  Many job seekers take a "I hope they like me" attitude, but you have much more control than you think over whether or not they offer you the job.  If you're not regularly getting offers (yes, even in this economy),take a hard look at your interview style with our Strategic Approach to the Interview.
  • And seriously consider pairing a strategic approach with a 30-60-90-day plan to show the hiring manager.  It's a fantastic communication tool.

What I really want you the job seeker to know is that you are not a victim of circumstance...a bad economy, a decision to "hire someone internally," nothing.  You have the power to change your situation for the better--today.

Check out our new Job Search Tools page to see at a glance every tool that Career Confidential offers to help you overcome obstacles and succeed in your job search.  Every one of our products is backed by a 1-year guarantee, so you've got nothing to lose.  But you do have a job to go get.  See our comprehensive list of Job Search Tools now.

Important Military Transition Job Search Tip for Veterans or Spouses

Military vets and spouses looking for a job have challenges--and advantages

I have profound respect for our military--soldiers, spouses, and families.  They provide a priceless service to our country and make sacrifices the rest of us can't even begin to imagine.  But spouses also make a career sacrifice because of the hit they take to their resume employment history.  It's hard to develop a solid career path when you're moving from post to post every year or two.

I recently received an email from a military spouse asking me how to reassure recruiters and employers with reservations about her 'interrupted' work history and find a job.  I looked at her background:  great worker, ambitious, competitive...just didn't have the resume full of performance numbers that job seekers need.

My advice to her:  Look for folks on LinkedIn with her specific military branch (Marine) in their backgrounds and contact them directly.  They will absolutely be more receptive to her.

If you're in the job market, you should absolutely use every strategic advantage you have, and a military background is  a strong one.  Soldiers have a strong bond (as well they should) and take care of their own--and that includes spouses, too.

Veterans, your military background makes you an excellent candidate in the job search, too.  You have skills, discipline, and a strong work ethic that's valuable in the private sector.

But whether or not you were ever in the military, your best path to a job is ALWAYS through contacting hiring managers directly.  (See these Hidden Job Market Strategy Tips for ideas.)  They are the ones with jobs to fill, and they are the ones who make the decision to fill them.  That's who to talk to.  LinkedIn is a great way to contact them, but other social media like Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ works, too.  Use your network, do some research, and find them.

You can do that on your own, but if you're interested in getting some help to get it done in a hurry, please check out my Hidden Jobs Finder system.  It's got a complete guide to finding hiring managers, sample emails to send to them, and lots of ideas for getting and keeping their attention.

Best of luck.
